The Pom-Pom Suit
Story:
After Stanford's Water Polo team lost in the NCAA finals for a second year, fans threw down their pom-poms as they left the stadium. I seized the opportunity and collected most of the discarded pom-poms.

Inspiration:
The Pom-Pom Suit was built as a personal project.
I was inspired by the pants that Andre3000 from OutKast wore in the music video for their song, Rosa Parks.
Construction:
The Pom-Pom Suit contains over 250 cheerleading pom-poms that I sewed on with fishing line to a base shirt and pair of pants.

Public Display:
The catwalk pictures are from the Exploratorium's "2nd Skin" Public Runway Show. The suit remained on display for six months at the Exploratorium as part of their Clothesline Project.

Snowboarding:
The final suit turned out better than I imagined. Because the suit was very warm, I decided to take it to the ski slopes. It was fun to see all the surprised faces as I rode down the hill.
