Practicing Etiquette

Location: TokyoMK Taxi, Tokyo, Japan Duration: 9 Weeks Sponsor: Stanford Center for East Asian Studies Description: In 2005, I won a scholarship through the Stanford Center for East Asian Studies to go to Tokyo, Japan and work at TokyoMK Taxi, a company known for its innovative GPS dispatching system. Responsibilities: At TokyoMK, I taught English to Japanese cab drivers, performed basic auto maintenance, and experienced Japanese business culture. One of the highlights of the summer was when I donned the MK uniform and rode along in a cab on a night shift.
